UN Women’s Oulimata Sarr on how to empower women economically post-COVID-19

A recent report by the UN Women showed that the pandemic-induced poverty surge will widen the gender poverty gap. In fact, the COVID-19 pandemic will push 96 million people into extreme poverty by 2021, of which more than half are women and girls. Oulimata Sarr, Regional Director for West and Central Africa at the UN Women joins CNBC Africa for more.
