<p>CNBC Africa’s Bronwyn Nielsen sat down with Akinwumi Adesina, President of the African Development Bank at the on-going World Economic Forum meeting in Davos, Switzerland to make the case for investment on the continent and how African countries can strengthen their economies to uplift its youth.</p>

<p>The African Development Bank says regional and global shocks in 2016 slowed the pace of growth in Africa, but signs of recovery were manifest in 2017 and the bank projects growth for the region to accelerate to 4.1 per cent in 2018. CNBC Africa’s Frederic Vandevyver caught up with Abebe Shimeles, Acting Director of Research, Networking and Partnerships division at the African Development Bank to discuss the projections.</p>

<p>The African Development Bank, on Thursday, officially opened its country department complex in Abuja, Nigeria&#8217;s Federal Capital Territory. The bank also says it is set to embark on priority projects in Nigeria.</p>

<p>Nigeria has urged the African Development Bank (AfDB) to lead the fight to end extreme poverty ravaging conflict affected states in Africa by 2030.The Minister of Finance Kemi Adeosun, made the call at the commissioning of the new AfDB Nigeria Country Office building in Abuja.</p>
