2021: How the agriculture sector can drive Nigeria’s economic recovery

No doubt the Covid-19 pandemic was the Black Swan event of the year, with the impact seen across sectors. To mitigate the impact of the pandemic on smallholder farmers, Nigeria launched the Agriculture for food and Job plan, as a component of the Nigeria Economic Sustainability Plan in July, which aims to create between 5 to 10 million jobs through the Agric sector.
