2021: How the agriculture sector can drive Nigeria’s economic recovery
No doubt the Covid-19 pandemic was the Black Swan event of the year, with the impact seen across sectors. To mitigate the impact of the pandemic on smallholder farmers, Nigeria launched the Agriculture for food and Job plan, as a component of the Nigeria Economic Sustainability Plan in July, which aims to create between 5 to 10 million jobs through the Agric sector. Joining CNBC Africa to discuss how the agriculture sector can lead the economic recovery efforts are; Onyeka Akumah, CEO of FarmCrowdy, Ayodeji Balogun, CEO of Afex Commodities Exchange and Seyi Edward, Chief Operating Officer of Babban Gona.
