WFP: Over 36mn people struggling to meet food & nutrition needs in West & Central Africa

The latest food security analysis of the Cadre Harmonisé shows that over 36 million people are struggling to meet their basic food and nutrition needs in West and Central Africa. The report expects the number to rise to over 52 million during the June–August 2025 lean season driven by persistent conflict, displacement, economic deterioration, and recurrent extreme weather in these regions. David Stevenson, the Nigeria Country Director at WFP says Nigeria needs a policy that delivers humanitarian solutions and the humanitarian community must stay the course. He joins CNBC Africa for this discussion.
