<p>The Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer of Sterling Bank, Abubakar Suleiman says unemployment remains the biggest challenge in Nigeria but the country’s opportunity lies in the fact that it has a labour force that can be put to use. <p>Sterling Bank has reported a 65.2 per cent increase in profit after tax for the first quarter of the year. The figure now stands at 3.1billion naira.</p>

<p>Sterling Bank’s third quarter earnings showed an 18.8 per cent increase in gross earnings to 94.6 billion naira from 79.7 billion naira recorded in the third quarter of 2016.</p>

<p>Nigerian lender Sterling Bank has reported 5.4 per cent drop in half year net profit which came in at 3.8 billion naira, from over 4 billion in the same period last year.</p>
