<p>In Rwanda, Atlas Mara Limited and Kenya Commercial Bank Group signed a definitive agreement to acquire 62 per cent of issued shares in Banque Populaire du Rwanda. At the same time, Israeli private airline company, Israir made its maiden flight to Rwanda, at the Kigali International Airport. And today, the government of Rwanda and the government of the Republic of Korea signed a bilateral air service agreement. <p>Rwanda and Burundi held a bilateral meeting, hoping to restore the relations that worsen since 2015. The meeting came almost two months after the military intelligence chiefs of Rwanda and Burundi met at the same location to discuss security issues and cooperation. <p>Rwanda has reimposed lock-down in parts of Kigali in a bid to prevent the spread of the coronavirus in other areas. Moreover, the Central Bank has announced that commercial banks have restructured loans amounting to about $679.5 million in a move to mitigate Rwandans from making monthly payments. During the same time, Equity Group Holdings ended its negotiations to acquire the banking businesses owned by Atlas Mara in Rwanda, Tanzania, Zambia, and Mozambique. <p>In Rwanda, IMF has confirmed that it has approved $109.4 million in credit to help address the COVID-19 pandemic. Moreover, The City of Kigali and Nyarugenge District Authorities have shifted some food trading activities from city markets to Nyabugogo Bus Park to decongest marketplaces, and RwandAir is working on launching cargo flights in the coming days to respond to demand in movement of good.
