UPDATE 1-Ethiopian Airlines reports 14% jump in full-year revenue

ADDIS ABABA, July 29 (Reuters) – Ethiopian Airlines posted revenue of $7 billion in the 2023/24 fiscal year, from $6.1 billion a year earlier, state-owned Ethiopian Broadcasting Corporation reported on Monday.
The airline ferried 17. 1 million passengers in the same period, a 23% rise over the previous year, the broadcaster reported the airline’s Chief Executive, Mesfin Tasew, saying during a news conference to release the results.
In May, Mesfin had said he expected the airline would transport 30% more passengers in the just-ended year, buoyed by new routes and a rebound in
global travel
.
