Over half the world’s population lives in cities and it is predicted that by 2030, this number will have grown to more than 70 per cent. Tackling this influx of people was one of the agendas of the ongoing Metropolis Annual Meeting where delegates from over 137 cities around the world have converged at Johannesburg’s Sandton Convention Centre. CNBC Africa’s Aviwe Mtila spoke to the Gauteng MEC for Roads & Transport, Ismail Vadi, on the side-lines of the 3 day meeting.
