A long and difficult journey lies ahead for aviation industry hit hard by COVID-19

The International Air Transport Association has published its revised outlook for the airline industry for 2020. The global net loss estimate has increased by 41 per cent, compared to the forecast in June. With the re-opening of borders and a possibility of a vaccine, performance is expected to see a turn for the better in 2021. Joining CNBC Africa to unpack those estimates is Muhammad Albakri, Regional Vice President for Africa & the Middle East, International Air Transport Association.
