This morning the South African health minister Zweli Mkhize announced that it will be resuming its Johnson and Johnson vaccine rollout this week, through the department’s Sisonke Programme. This after the country halted the use of the vaccine due to concerns of blood clots after 6 cases in the US. The department says recent research shows that the cases of clotting are 1 in a million and that women between 18 and 48 are at particular risk.
