The Power Table: Phala Phala: Ramaphosa’s Waterloo?
The Phala Phala plot continues to thicken. The mystery Sudanese business man who is said to have bought cattle from President Ramaphosa’s farm in Limpopo is no longer a mystery. Hazim Mustafa has been in contact with Sky News and he says the transaction was above board. He said the reasons the buffalos remained at Ramaphosa’s farm two year after he bought them is because of the Covid lockdowns that disrupted normal things. But he does say he wants a refund after the $580,000 at the centre of Ramaphosa’s political future was stolen from the farm with the President allegedly part of the cover up. So does the testimony of Mr Mustafa, confirming the Presidents version of events put the matter to bed? Joining CNBC Africa for this discussion are Mbhazima Shilowa, Former Gauteng Premier, Dr Sthembile Mbete Senior Lecturer at University of Pretoria and Jannie Rossouw, Professor at the School of Economic and Business Sciences at Wits University.
