By 2050 an estimated 2.5 billion more people will be added to urban areas, with 90% of this growth taking place in Africa and Asia. If managed effectively, Africa’s cities will drive the continent’s economic growth, and thereby help reduce poverty.
Conservation efforts in Rwanda have seen the population of mountain gorillas triple in the last seven years. As the population rises, accommodation is conservationists’ next concern. African Wildlife Foundation donated 27 hectares to Rwanda to expand the Volcanoes National Park which is home to the endangered animals.
