Recent landmark agreements including the WTO Reference Paper on Services Domestic Regulation and the AfCFTA Protocol on Trade in Services are now coming into effect and giving much-needed impetus to global efforts to reduce restrictions in the sector. DAVOS 2024: On the Frontlines for Nature

<p>Rwandan-owned Akagera Medicines and the Coalition for Epidemic Preparedness Innovations (CEPI) entered a new partnership of $1.46 million to improve vaccine delivery and accessibility in Africa. The partnership will see CEPI provide the financial and technical support to demonstrate the pre-clinical proof of concept of Akagera Medicine’s innovative lipid nanoparticles (LNPs) and modified mRNA for the development of a multivalent influenza vaccine.<br />
In this panel discussion, Regis Rugemanshuro, CEO of the Rwanda Social Security Board, the majority owner of Akagera Medicines and Michael Fairbanks, Chairman of the Board of Akagera Medicines explain what this milestone means for Rwanda and the continent.</p>

<p>The Tanzania Railways Corporation announced it will receive the first batch of electric trains it had ordered by November this year after signing a deal with a South Korean company, Hyundai Rotem. <p>The Government of Rwanda has successfully raised $620 million through the issuance of a 10-year Eurobond. The proceeds of the bond will be used partly to retire Rwanda’s existing Eurobond which is due in May 2023, in line with the country’s debt management strategy to proactively address the upcoming debt burden while taking advantage of the current conducive market.
